Conspiracy
theories have been around for a while now, but recently (2013-present) it has become a very popular
topic of discussion especially among young people. A conspiracy theory is a
description of an event that implores collusion, generally involves the
government or any higher power than civilians in society. Usually these
theories do not have any real hard evidence to support this accusation, it is
all simply just talk. The most popular and most spoken of conspiracy theories
include the John F. Kennedy Assassination, 9/11 Terrorist Attack, Flat-Earth
Conspiracy and the Moon Landing. These are all very hot topics of debate among
young people especially now. YouTube influencers have even hopped on the conspiracy
wagon and in doing so now more and more people are aware and conscious of
conspiracy theories. In the past 5 years, “conspiracy theories” has been
searched into Google fairly frequently from 2013 to the present. In 2014 around
March the spike of the search for conspiracies spiked upward to 91% of the
world, this date coincides with the disappearance of the Malaysian Airlines
Flight 370, which has plenty of conspiracies behind it.
Conspiracy
theories are more for the people who are willing to take a leap of faith into
believing something beyond what the modern world is telling them, these
theories are not for everyone as most “adults” (30 and beyond) seem to feel it
childish or preposterous for there to be some collusion with the government and
aliens and what not. Fair enough, the whole idea of there being more to life
than what our leaders in the government tell us, is all quite scary and a bit
hard to believe but it would not be surprising.
